The Women's team has evolved into a highly respected force within our league.
Consistent positive feedback from referees and opposing coaches underscores this progress, which began long before the season commenced.
A dedicated pre-season, emphasizing development over immediate wins, built a strong foundation.
Training continued throughout the off-season, focusing on fitness, core strength, and refined handling skills.
The season kicked off with a resounding victory over Market Bosworth, a team that had previously outscored us significantly.
This impressive performance, witnessed by a large and enthusiastic crowd, demonstrated the team's remarkable progress.
While not every game has resulted in a win (Played seven, Won four, two losses and a draw), the team has consistently performed at a high level.
Notably, one established team required 16 of its first-team players to narrowly defeat us.
The team's resilience is evident in its ability to recover from setbacks, both on and off the field.
The strong camaraderie and unwavering support amongst players is truly inspiring.
Currently they sit Fourth in their League table, but only 5 points from second placed Long Eaton!!
Recruitment efforts have yielded positive results, with new players joining the team.
A valuable link with Lincoln University has been established, with university players attending training sessions and expressing interest in further involvement.
The team's leadership, led by Mark & Clare Dodd with Captain Emilie Rathbone and Vice Captains Jodie Goldstraw and Ella Turlukowky, has been instrumental in fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
Their commitment to regular training, player integration, and team social activities has been invaluable.
Their involvement in wider Club activities is also now very noticeable and welcomed.
