Playing Update – a new campaign ahead

The senior squad have started training for the new season which starts in September.

They will be led by newly-appointed captain Olly Dodders.

Training sessions are every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm.
All senior players are urged to attend and newcomers are always welcome.
The sessions are led by Director of Rugby Adam Corcoran and Head Coach James Offer.

Olly takes over from long-serving Will Britten, who stood down in May after a record six-year stint.
Since joining from Keyworth two years ago, Olly has become a regular in the first team back row and has also represented Midlands U20s and recently captained Notts, Lincs and Derbys U20s.

Director Tim Barker said: “It’s an exciting time for Olly and I know he’s relishing the challenge.
He has the full support of the management team and senior players group.”

Pre-season games have been scheduled for next month when the 1st and 2nd teams travel to Peterborough on Saturday 17th August followed by home fixtures for the 1s and 2s the following Saturday 24th August against RAF teams.

League fixtures start on Saturday 7th September, at home to Matlock for the 1s kick off 3pm at Kelham Road and away at Casuals for the 2s.

The 3rd XV have been entered into the NLD Merit competition and fixtures are expected to be announced early in August.
