Looking forward to the new season…that’s the club’s senior women’s team who are aiming to build on their inaugural campaign.
Training is every Wednesday night at Kelham Road (7.30 start) and all players over 16 are welcome to attend whether a newbie to the sport or experienced.
The team are entered into the RFU’s league competition and are hoping to start the season by playing a friendly, at home to Mellish on Sunday 1 September, kick off 2pm.
Head coach Mark Dobb comments:
“Having started a team less than 16 months ago and only playing games since Christmas, the team have developed brilliant into a side that can compete on the field with most. Taking something from every opportunity to enjoy, learn and develop this wonderful game.
“With a very inexperienced squad, the group have embraced this opportunity to learn a new sport and become new friends on and off the field.
“The team were bolstered towards the end of last season with the addition of a few of our under 18 players, both were happy to see each other on the pitch, more experience added to the cohesion and structure and welcomed subs at times.”
